Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton has announced the creation of 500 new posts for public health inspectors as the government seeks to boost the sector.

This has doubled the number of public health inspectors currently employed at the Ministry and is expected to significantly impact the efficiency of departments across the island.

The announcement comes in the wake of outrage at a recent public health scare at Crab Circle in Kingston, with concerns raised about the ability of public health inspectors to adequately carry out their duties more often.
