Juventus’ Federico Gatti scored a late goal to rescue a dramatic draw against Sevilla in their first-leg semi-final which ended 1-1 at the Allianz on Thursday.
Gatti’s goal came just before the end of extra time to add the most dramatic of twists in what seemed like a sure loss for the Italians at home.
The striker’s goal canceled out Youssef En-Nesyri’s 26th-minute opener to deny Sevilla a first away win against Juventus as they contemplate what could have been their trip to Italy.
Sevilla, who dominated a majority of the fixture, were left to rue, missing chances by En-Nesyri and Ocampos as they allowed a lacklustre Juventus back into the game and were punished right at the end.
The Spaniards had previously won their last six encounters and would feel disappointed not to have added a seventh, however, they will have the opportunity to improve their record in the reverse leg which is set for Spain on May 18.
Juve, who fought their way back into the game will also feel confident about going all the way when both teams line up for the deciding leg next week.
