A 22-year-old illegal immigrant living on the coast of Florida has reportedly confessed to murdering his roommate for throwing a plate of food on the floor during a dispute.

The accused, Bryan Marquez, was charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday approximately two days after police received information from a resident who discovered the victim’s foot sticking out from a makeshift grave on a rental property in Fort Pierce.

While in custody the accused shared with investigators from the Fort Pierce Police Department that the victim known only by his alias ‘Guanajuato’ threw a plate filled with food on the ground which angered him.

He expressed that after gaining liquid courage from bottles of alcohol, he decided to confront the roommate about the incident and punched him repeatedly in the face and ribs knocking him to the ground.

The accused, after noticing that the victim was out cold, grabbed him by his feet and buried him in a shallow grave. The victim’s body was later exhumed and sent to the morgue for an autopsy.

The medical examiner concluded that the victim’s cause of death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

The findings also revealed that gravel and soil that were found inside the man’s larynx, trachea, lungs, and stomach also contributed to his death by obstructing his airway.
