Lawmen assigned to the Half Way Tree Police Station have indicated that a Taurus 9-millimeter pistol with a magazine containing twelve 9milimeter rounds of ammunition were seized in Dumbarton Avenue, Kingston 10 last evening.

 Two men were also taken into custody in connection with the find; the identities of the men however are being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports indicate that about 10:35 p.m., the team responded to an assignment where both men were seen standing beside a motorcar.

Police reports state that both men were acting in a manner that aroused the suspicion of the lawmen.

 As such, both men were accosted and searched; the vehicle was also searched and the firearm along with the ammunition found inside a KFC box on the back seat of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, an appeal has been issued to citizens to cooperate with lawmen to rid the streets of illegal weapons and criminal masterminds.
