A regional beauty pageant in Altamira, Brazil came to a tragic end after the father of one of the contestants shot at the judges following his daughter’s fourth-place finish.
It’s understood that the bizarre incident occurred hours after the contest ended. The angry father identified as Sebastiao Francisco, a local rancher vehemently expressed dissatisfaction with the final placing, questioning the judge’s decision and the evaluation criteria.
According to reports, witnesses say Francisco considered his daughter a “sure winner.” Despite the presence of private security and the military, he took matters into his own hands, unholstering his gun and firing at the judges before being shot himself.
An investigation into this incident is said to be ongoing to determine if military police could have prevented the death of the angry man.
