Another major Dancehall project is set to shake up the algorithm, courtesy of the top-tier music producer YowLevite, following the release of his drop “Levitate” on Friday.

With giants such as Spice, Teejay, and Beenie Man among the talent curated on for the project, fans are set for a pulsating yet diverse mix of sounds.

Speaking with Sleek Jamaica, Yow Levite shared some key insights about the release.

What inspired the project?
The project was inspired by growth and elevation, but I have to credit Spice for playing a major role in that. She’s had a strong impact on my career, and we had a conversation about me producing more music under my own label. That stuck with me.

The name “Levitate” actually came from her—she gave me that name, and it perfectly represents where I’m at. It’s about rising, stepping into a higher level, and owning my sound and my vision fully.

What kind of sound will listeners experience?
Listeners will get a fusion—dancehall at the core, but with traphall, modern textures, and global influence. It’s high energy, it’s versatile, and it’s built to connect in the streets, the clubs, and internationally.

In terms of features, who’s on the project and how did you approach that?
The features are very intentional. It’s artistes from different stages of my journey—from the very first artiste I decided to manage, all the way to the most recent. It also includes major artistes I’ve worked with over the years like Spice, Beenie Man, Teejay, and Bushman. So it’s not just a lineup—it’s a timeline of my career and my growth in the industry.

Any co-production or is it strictly YowLevite?
Strictly YowLevite. This project is fully produced by me—my sound, my direction, my vision.

Release date for the drop?
Levitate will be fully released on March 20, 2026.

Any timelines for music videos?
We’re currently working on visuals as we go along. The rollout is active, so expect videos dropping in phases around the project.

You premiered “Run Up” — why that single? How does it set the tone?
“Run Up” with Teejay was the perfect entry point. The chemistry between me and Teejay is natural—we’ve built a sound together that just connects.

That track has the energy, the bounce, and the attitude to grab attention immediately. It’s a high-energy record that gets the crowd active and sets the tone for the project—once you hear that, you understand the level we’re coming with.

Can we expect more compilation drops in the future?
Definitely. Expect more—and expect the unexpected. This is just the start of what I’m building.

YowLevite, of course, has worked with some of the industry’s biggest names over the year, including having a hand in hits with king and queen Vybz Kartel and Spice. Given the lineup and composition of the project, “Levitate” looks set to deliver another musical high.
