Two cousins were shot and killed along Peel Street in Falmouth this morning. The deceased have been identified as Fabian Williams and Chevan Williams, both masons of Brown’s Town in St Ann, but were residing in Falmouth.
Police reports indicate that around 2:30 a.m., both men went to a nearby shop to purchase a few items. After leaving the shop however, the men were approached by armed assailants who opened fire hitting both victims several times. The armed men then made a daring escape following the shooting.
The police were then summoned and upon arrival, both men were seen lying along a section of the roadway; the victims were rushed to the Falmouth hospital where they were pronounced dead.
No motive has since been established for the shooting. In the interim, a probe has been launched by the Major Investigation Division in Trelawny. Citizens are also being asked to come forward with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects responsible for the killing.
