Borussia Dortmund could dethrone Bayern Munich and clinch their first Bundesliga title in 11 years when they face Mainz at the Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, on Saturday.

Dortmund, who sits at the summit with 70 points going into Saturday’s final matchday, leads Champions Bayern by two points and will clinch the title should they win or if Munich loses their fixture against Koln.

Second place Bayern-68 points have won the league for the last 11 years and will be aware that anything less than three points will see them relinquish the crown to their rivals.

While a Dortmund win or Bayern loss will guarantee that the trophy switches hands this season, there remains a possibility of a dramatic plot twist.

Should Bayern win and Dortmund draw their fixture, the champs would retain their hold on the title with a superior goal difference.

Outgoing star Jude Bellingham, who has been an integral part of Dortmund’s success this season will be all too aware of the stakes and will be keen on delivering the league title as a parting present before he joins La Liga giant Real Madrid in the summer.

Kick off time for both games are set for 8:00 am.
