The Golden State Warriors will be seeking to stave off elimination from the NBA playoffs when they face the Los Angeles Lakers in a must-win game five at the Chase Centre on Wednesday.

The reigning champions who trail the series 3-1 will need a victory to preserve their title defense beyond Wednesday. In fact, the Warriors have no choice but to win the remaining three games to advance to the conference finals.

While Golden State will have the mountainous task of securing three wins to move on, the Lakers need only one more to confirm their ticket to the next round.

All eyes will again be on the LeBron James versus Steph Curry match-up. Both performances will no doubt impact the outcome of the game.

Curry who posted a 30-point tripple-double in a narrow 104-101 loss in game five, will need a repeat performance as well as support from his teammates, if they’re to stave off James and company during the crucial fixture.

The reigning finals MVP was the only player to score over 20 points for the Warriors compared to the Lakers who had three players posting at least 21 points in the loss.

Goldens State’s head coach Steve Kerr is expected to address the scoring imbalance ahead of their home game.

The tip-off time is set for 9:00 pm.
