Denver sweeps Lakers for the win

The Denver Nuggets advanced to their first-ever NBA championship finals after beating the LA Lakers 111-113 to complete a 4-0 series sweep at the Crypto.com arena, in Los Angeles on Monday

In a game of two tales that saw Denver chasing history while the Lakers attempted to preserve their legacy, the history books were updated as the Nugget verified their top-seed status with a resounding series win over the many-time champs

They, however, had to do it the hard way with the Lakers, playing to save the series dominated the first half 73-58 following two competitive quarters

Four-time NBA champion Lebron James shouldered the bulk of the scoring after posting a massive 31 of his 40 points in the first half alone.

That, however, was the highlight of the Lakers’ challenge as the Nuggets rallied back 89-94 at the end of the third before completing the historic win.

Denver star Nikola Jokic deposited a triple effort of 30 points, 13 assists, and 14 rebounds to help push the Nuggets to a close 22-19 fourth-quarter lead as they eked out a defining two-point win.

The victory saw the Nuggets avenge their 4-2 loss to the Lakers in the 2020 campaign which the Lakers eventually went on to win.

Denver will now face the winner of the Miami Heat/ Boston Celtics series.

The Heat currently leads that encounter 3-0 going into Tuesday’s game four.
