Reggae Boyz winger Demarai Gray rolled onto the scoresheet for Saudi Pro League team Al-Ettifaq as they played to a 1-1 draw against Al-Hazm on Thursday.
Gray scored the game’s opener in the 19th minute to give Al Ettifaq the early lead in the encounter.
The Jamaican showed excellent technical composure after controlling a loose ball in the box on his weaker right foot, evading a defender before launching a low drive with his right into the far corner to make it 1-0.
The strike was the Jamaican’s second in the season in addition to his two assists as they capitalized on a swing in momentum in the first half.
Gray’s goal was shaping up to be the deciding factor in the fixture before a 96th-minute penalty by Tozé denied Al Ettifaq maximum points.
Despite the dramatic finish, the result hands the Steven Gerrard-managed team their first point in two games following back-to-back losses in the league.
The goal also brings Gray’s tally for club and country to seven following a stellar year for the Reggae Boyz, where he contributed five goals and three assists since making his National team debut for Jamaica at the Gold Cup in July.
