Reggae Boyz defender Damion Lowe is set to play alongside national team captain Andre Blake for the upcoming Major League Soccer (MLS) season after joining last year’s Cup finalist Philadelphia Union from David Beckham’s Inter Miami CF.
The defender’s transfer was officially confirmed on Wednesday night via the club’s social media.
Lowe’s transfer to the Union was part of a player-swap agreement between both teams which included a US $200,000 thousand fee and rights to a top future draft pick.
“We have acquired $225,000 in GAM, a natural first round selection in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, and the Priority Homegrown Rights to Inter Miami CF II striker Shanyder Borgelin from Philadelphia in exchange for defender Damion Lowe.”
“Thank you, Damion and good luck 💗🖤” the club posted on its Instagram.

The Reggae Boyz Vice Captain who signed for the Inter in 2022, has had a credible run with the Miami-based franchise after helping them reach their first-ever post-season playoffs last year.
He took to Instagram to thank the club, his teammates, and fans for their support as he shared his anticipation for his new challenge with the Union.

The 2022 finalist will now have both Captain and Vice Captain of one of CONCACAF’s best teams steering the ship going into what’s expected to be an intense 2023/24 season.
