Javan Garwood who was charged with the murder of his stepmother Andrea Lowe-Garwood back in January 2021 was freed in the Trelawny Circuit Court this morning.
Andrea was killed while worshipping inside the Agape Christian Fellowship Church in Falmouth, Trelawny on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Javan was found not guilty after the Crown told the court no further evidence would be presented against him.
Chief Justice Bryan Sykes then directed jurors to deliver a verdict of not guilty.
On Wednesday the court heard evidence from Lowe-Garwood’s son, Andre Williams, who identified her body at the funeral home.
Testimony was also provided by Corporal Alwyn Robinson who was part of the team that first arrived at the murder scene.
The prosecutor was still on Wednesday waiting for word on whether convicted triggerman Dwight “Prince” Bingham would take the stand, Thursday.
The Crown’s case collapsed after Bingham did not take the stand.
