Afro Beat Mega star Burna Boy will be making a return to the Grammy awards after being nominated for two Grammys.
Burna, who had one of the biggest songs of the summer with “Last Last”, copped nominations in the categories of; Best Music Global Music Album-Love Damini and Best Global Music performance for “Last Last”
The Nigerian-born artiste, who walked away with Best Music Global Music Album in 2021 for Twice as Tall is also favored to win at least one of his two nominations.
The “African Giant” this year also scored major nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) for song of the year-Last Last, as well as recent nominations for Music Of Black Origins (MOBO) awards.
In the British-based MOBO’s the Afro beat secured nods for Best International Act and Best African Music Act.
The recognition caps off a super year for Burna who has huge success on the road as well as on streams led by his “Last Last” single which has been certified Gold in several territories including the US and UK.
Fellow African Artiste Tems, is also in the running for a Grammy, after being nominated alongside Future and Drake in the Best Melodic Rap Performance for their smash Wait for You.
She is nominated alongside Latto for Big Energy, Dj Khaled- Beautiful ft Future and SZA and Kendrick Lamar-Die Hard
