Khadija “Bunny” Shaw scored a brace, including the winner, in an epic performance as Manchester City clipped Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield in the Women’s Super League on Sunday.

Shaw’s goals came in the second half as City fought back in a tough encounter against the Reds, which saw them trail 1-0 going into the break following an Olivia Smith 41st-minute strike.

Shaw netted City’s reply in the 58th courtesy of a powerful header following a delightful pass into the box by Laura Hemp to restore parity just before the hour mark.

The game seemed destined for a drawn result with both teams at constant deadlock, however

Despite chances by both teams to take the lead, fortune favoured the visitors as Shaw, who looked menacing all half, nabbed a late winner in added time with a left-footed rocket from the edge of the goal area to wrap up points for the Manchester club.

That goal was Shaw’s fifth in her last three games for the Super League giants, who now move atop the standings with ten points from 12 and a third consecutive win from four games.
