Reggae Girlz striker Khadija “Bunny” Shaw continued her impressive season for Manchester City after scoring the winner in their 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion WFC at Joie Stadium in the Women’s Super League (WSL) on Sunday.
Shaw’s goal came in the 44th minute after she outpaced her marker inside the box to steer a Jill Rood square goalward, giving the “Lady Cityzens” the lead heading into the break.
That strike proved to be the deciding factor in the game as Man City held on for a narrow win and an important three points.
Shaw’s goal was her third in two games for the Manchester club following a brace in City’s 3-0 win over Paris FC in their Women’s Champions League qualifier on Thursday.
Manchester City now moves to fourth in the standings on four points from two games in the WSL.
The reigning Golden Boot winner will next be in action when City hosts Westham United on October 8.
