Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw scored twice to record her 50th goal for Women’s Super League team Manchester City Women as they beat Everton Women 3-2 to secure a top-four finish on the league’s final day, Saturday.

Shaw, who has been in prolific form for the Manchester club all season, opened the scoring in the 56th minute before returning in minute 69 to double her tally as she registered her 50th club goal in just two seasons.

Shaw’s brace made it 3-0 after striker partner Lauren Hemp scored City’s second in minute 60.

Goals from Lucy Hope and Leonor Maier in the 79th and 94th minutes made to an anxious finish. However the “Lady Cityzens” held on for three points to confirm their fourth place standing with 47 points just below Arsenal women who are third in the standings.

In addition to the landmark feat, Shaw was also named Manchester City’s player of the season as well as winning the goal of the season for the club.

The Jamaican was also the second most lethal striker in the league this season with 20 goals from 22 games, just edged for the golden boot by Aston Villa’s Rachel Daley-22 goals from as many games.

She is now expected to rest before turning her focus to national duties with the Reggae Girlz in the next few weeks, as they prepare for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup which kicks off in July.
