Love is Wicked, a 2007 hit by sister duo Brick and Lace received some props on Monday night thanks to American late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
During his Jimmy Kimmel Live show, which airs on ABC, Kimmel spoke about calling COVID-19 helpline and being placed on hold. While he was on hold, the popular Diwali rhythm played and then the Love is Wicked song came on.
In a post on Facebook, Brick and Lace member Nyla Thorbourne wrote, “So crazy!! Jimmy Kimmel played our hit song #loveiswicked on his show last night. Well you can’t say they won’t be jamming while waiting.”
Love is Wicked was a huge hit in Europe making its way onto several charts.
Produced by Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden, the track was written by the Thorbourne sisters Nailah, Nyanda and Tasha.
The song was released via 180 Entertainment/Kon Live/Geffen. It was certified gold in Sweden and France and was a huge hit in Africa. A popular television soap opera in Nigeria was named after the song.
Love is Wicked was also featured in the video game The Sims 2 and the Bratz motion picture soundtrack.
