Track and field legend Usain Bolt has cautioned Jamaican athletes against being manipulated by Corporate Jamaica, following their successes in the recently concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.

Bolt’s advice comes in the wake of several companies offering Olympians who medalled in their respective events gifts and other prizes.

In a post to his Twitter page this morning, the World Record holder over the 100- and 200-metre said prior to the Olympics, most Jamaican athletes had to fend for themselves.

“A lot of athletes sought support from Corporate Jamaica in their preparation leading up and heading to the Olympic Games and got no help. Athletes know your worth/power now that they all want to jump onto your brand/image for free,” he said.

Several athletes who medalled have been offered luxurious hotel stays at, at least one regional hotel chain, Sleek News can report.

Bolt suggested that had they not found success in their respective disciplines, they would not have been bombarded by certain brands.
