The Black River police station in St. Elizabeth has confirmed that a manhunt has been launched for eight inmates who escaped overnight.

It is suggested that the inmates broke out by cutting the metal bar at the window.

The inmates would have had to have used a machine to cut the bars of the window.

Reportedly, the inmates are those charged with murder, robbery, and other serious crimes.
