Barbados’s Prime Minister Mia Mottley has attracted more international acclaim after being ranked among Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women in 2025.

The recently released list declared PM Mottely the 99th most influential woman globally across political, business, and philanthropic arenas. It’s the second time in three years that the Babian leader has made the list, having previously featured in the 2023 edition for equally work and impact across the field and leadership.

The 2025 Forbes feature adds to a growing raft of international commendation PM Mottely’s has attracted through her stewardship, having been featured on TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2022.

She was also voted “Champion for Global Change” by the United Nations, who noted “her exemplary leadership in fighting for a just, equitable, and sustainable world” also in 2022, in addition to being among BBC’s and Financial Times’ most influential Women’s list that year, respectively.

PM Mottley recently visited Jamaica along with a convoy of other CARICOM leaders who met with Prime Minister Andrew Holness to offer aid and coordinate relief strategies to devastated areas affected by historic Category 5 Hurricane Melissa.
