Versatile and talented would be suitable descriptors for dancer Kaka Highflames, who not only creates trending steps with his choreography but is turning up the heat with his songs. We caught up with the dancer/artiste to ask a few questions about his rise in the entertainment industry.
How did you get your name?
The talented dancer shared that he was given the alias by his primary school football coach, who used the name on the back of the jersey he wore ( Brazilian football star Kaka) to identify him while he learned his name.
Did you have other career aspirations?
Kaka noted that apart from dancing his interest was in a football career, however, given the success of his dancing endeavors he stuck to that passion which has returned solid dividends.
When did you realize music was blowing up as a viable career?
The talented teen shared that he realised he had a viable career in dancing and as a recording act following the success of his hit “Flamez Rock,” inspired by his group Highflames.
Who inspires you?
Chris Brown , the legendary late Bogle and Elephant Man were among those Kaka says inspires his music and overall talent.

In addition to creating the viral dance “Slingshot,” Kaka has been involved in the creation of other noted steps with his HighFlames dance team, such as “Smooth Wid It,” “Flamez Rock“ and soon-to-be-released “Scoop.”
Dance Reception: Local vs Overseas
While noting the love he receives locally, Kaka shared that the overseas audience is more appreciative of the dance culture because it’s more viewed professionally as a solid source of income compared to its perception in Jamaican society.
