Day two of St Lucia Carnival 2024 delivered a “double dose” of excitement for revellers who jumped and raved all day in a thrilling conclusion to the season of festivities on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s road march attire represented a more tamed, dress-down day compared to the elaborate and eye-catching costumes and floats that were on display on the opening day (Monday).
The “road wear” was, however, the only thing relaxed about the day as the carnival goers made the most of the final day.
Each of the 11 bands were equally up to administering the proper dosage of thrill, entertainment and enjoyment to their respective sections to much delight of the many residents and on-lookers on the side lines.
Several celebrities, who were present at Monday’s opening such as singer/actress Chloe Bailey, Nathalie Emmanuel and social media influencer and dancer Korra Obidi also “ran it back” on day two. In addition, a few visitors to the island extended their stay to catch final day live action which in essence speaks volumes about the island’s carnival (entertainment) and hospitality.
Businesses closed half-day, and families came out in droves to converge along the respective routes with admiration as they cheered and interacted with passing bands.
The overall experience felt like a “community welcoming”. Certainly, the best of St Lucia was on display which will be an unforgettable experience for everyone.
