Jamaica’s women’s team secured a spot in the 4x100m relay final after finishing third in their semi-final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games a short while ago.

The Jamaican quartet of Briana Williams, Natasha Morrison, Ramona Burchell, and Shericka Jackson clocked a moderate 42.15s, behind Great Britain (41.55s) and United States (41.90s).

Williams, the young rising sensation, gave the Jamaicans an explosive start with a smooth exchange to Morrison, but a bit of hesitancy on the subsequent exchange to Burchell, saw them backing out into third for the final exchange. Jackson closed well but couldn’t get back to the top two.

Sprint double champion Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce are expected to boost the team for Friday’s final at 8:30 am.
