Rap superstar Jay-Z has reportedly selected himself to perform at the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show.
According to reports, it was a toss-up between Justin Bieber and Miley (Cyrus) as frontrunners; however, the Roc Nation boss, who spearheads the team responsible for selecting performers, opted for himself as the perfect headliner among the contenders, per PuckNews.
It’s reported that the team felt Jay presented a more compelling alternative than the available potential candidates, TMZ reports.
The reports had already left the internet split on a Jay-Z performance given his role among selectors as well as the timing of such a purported gig.
Controversy around his involvement hit a peak following Kendrick Lamar’s choice amidst the Drake rap battle, with viewing as a subliminal support for K.Dot, as the majority hype around the show orbited that “Killshot” at “6 God”.
Now with a Jay & Drake beef seemingly front and centre, the timing of his reported performance raises eyebrows.
HOV, of course, return to touring this year with several sold-out dates in New York and massive gigs in the UK.
This year’s Super Bowl will take place at SoFi Stadium on Feb. 14, 2027.
