Neymar’s fairytale World Cup return is seemingly already shaping to be a nightmare following reports of new injury concerns which could rule him out of Brazil’s upcoming fixtures, including the Cup opener.
According to reports, scans of Neymar’s legs from a recent team doctor visit detected a grade 2 calf injury, more than just an oedema as Santos FC had reported as per World Soccer Talk. The injury means he will likely be ruled out for 2 to 3 weeks of recovery, meaning he will definitely miss Brazil’s final 2 friendly games against Panama and Egypt.
Based on the speed of his recovery, also heavily likely to miss Brazil’s opening World Cup group C game against Morocco on June 13
The five-time World Champions are favourites to win the group, which also includes Haiti whom they’ll play on June 19 and Scotland on the 24th
