As the anticipation for Vybz Kartel’s first-ever appearance in Toronto to mark his grand return to Canada, the “Mayor” himself, Drake, has also expressed his pride in being involved in the upcoming shows in his home city.

Drizzy, who initially shared the news of Kartel’s historic appearance for October 26-27, last week, first reported by Sleek Jamaica, much to the jubilation of “Gaza fans”, again took to social media to pen a pride-filled declaration of the OVO-facilitated event:

Kartel Coming to Toronto isn’t OVO Fest, it’s his Tour and a Moment I am so proud to be a part of and enjoy with the City.

The statement which also tosated to the upcoming birthday celebration with the “Worl Boss”, announced a third performance date set for October 30, no doubt influenced by the overwhelming demand by Canadian fans who have clamoured for their chance to see the “Di teacha” live since his release.

“Of course I might have to step and Buss some shells pon stage. 3rd Show Just Added”

Drake has, of course, been a staunch supporter of the Dancehall Hero over the years, including being a very visible advocate of his release during his incarceration. Kartel has also expressed strong mutual respect for Drake’s music and general persona publicly on many occasions, and has previously shared music collaborations in the works.

The two previously shared stage for the first time as Co-headliners this summer at the sold-out Wireless festival in the UK during an epic final day.
