The fanfare over the recent development in St.Thomas has risen to an all-time peak, with the parish dominating online social chatter as the top trending topic on the island on social media.

The predominantly rural parish, which has been experiencing a series of infrastructure improvements and development, became the toast of the excitement with the official ribbon-cutting of the highly anticipated Morant Bay Urban Centre on Thursday.

The newly developed centre, which is said to include state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure, will house several of the country’s popular establishments, such as world-rated Ice cream eatery Devon House, an Express Fitness, as well as perhaps the most hyped inclusions, a long cried for KFC location in the parish.

The Centre is part of several larger projects including major highways and housing devolpment plans in recent years aimed at fast-tracking the development of the parish, which is seemingly fast becoming an attractive draw for investment interests.
