Iconic Reggae group Inner Circle added another accolade to their CV after their 1993 hit Bad Boys was Brit-certified silver for sales of 200,000 units in the United Kingdom (UK).

The certification in the UK was officially verified by the British Phonographic Institute (BPI) on Friday.

The feat is the third certification of the year for the Grammy-winning band after their 1993 single Sweat( A La La La La Long) earned gold status in both the UK and US in 2023.

Originally released in 1987, “Bad Boys,’ was re-released in 1993 as part of their platinum-selling “Bad To The Bone” album, which earned the Best Reggae Grammy Award that same year.

The Reggae song became a ‘cult classic’ after being featured as the theme song to popular film and television productions, most notably the reality series ‘Cops’ and the action movie franchise ‘Bad Boys’ starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

This latest certification puts the icing on a successful year for the legendary Reggae band, which also garnered over 97 million streams from 184 countries on Spotify in 2023.
