“Drunk fi Di Carnival” is a tagline that flows through the Michael S. Knight-produced song “Trinidad Sweet” which features the vocals of soca superstars Voice and V’ghn.
They pay homage to Trinidad and how much the country has exported love through their Carnival and soca music.
It starts with the Grenadian bad boy V’ghn calling on his friend Trinidadian ‘Voice the artiste‘, telling him how much he needs to be at Trinidad Carnival and disclosing his plans to fete non-stop.
Voice embraces the plans saying he’s “Ready” to create a Bacchanal and that he “can’t miss the steel pan and Riddim” – an infectious element, that is a vital part of Trinidad Carnival.
After ending the telephone conversation, Voice picks up V’ghn from the airport and it was non-stop feting.
The song was released over the weekend and comes just in time for Carnival 2024 in Trinidad and Tobago in February.
