The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) President Garth Gayle on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japan’s Tottori government assembly, Shinichi Hamasaki.

The MOU will see both countries engaging in track and field training for their athletes and coaches.

According to the JAAA, the MOU will be mutually beneficial.

Some Jamaican athletes will use the city of Tottori as their official training base leading up to the 2025 World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, while also competing at track meetings in Japan through invitation.

No dollar figures have been revealed for the MOU but according to track and field insiders, it’s a multi-million dollar agreement.
