Dancehall artiste Flippa Moggela, denies being a police informant to influence his time behind bars.

Flippa addressed the rumour during his recent interview on the “Let’s Be Honest Podcast”.

“This whole snicthing ting, when mi get lock up, who get lock up after me?….who you hear get indicted or whatever…who you hear Flippa tek di stand pon” he shared.

He also asserted that it was the other way around, noting that other people actually took deals for a more lenient judgement.

“..Nobody nah talk bout who talk pon Flippa. When you guh trial you affi have people come pon di stand.”

He also moved to clarify a 2006 incident surrounding a murder that reportedly occurred at his property.

“Inna 2006, a likkle incident happen [where] mi a try call piece wid some of mi bredrin dem, [the men] come inna my house and di man dem violate.. and kill two man inna mi house, me fi guh a prison fi sumpn me nuh do?

The deejay, who emphasised that he had no involvement in the incident, shared that he was unwilling to sacrifice his freedom for the killing.

“Tell di guy weh woulda go a prison fi two murder weh dem nuh do” he explained, adding his willliness to sign over his assets to such a candidate.

He added that persons had been confusing that matter with the other case regarding cooperation with authorities.

“They mixing up stuff, they making it seem like this is that which is [a] different thing. Them guy deh tek dem deal and whatever…how mi fi take something weh me nuh do, me woulda be a clown.”

The deejay shared that his early release was a result of a law change during his time in prison which immediately made him eligible for Parole having already exceeded the mininum time served under the new rule.

“New Jersey changed the law for non-violent crime and drop it from stick number..meaning you have a high number and a different number we you have to do certain period of time. So my flat number…with a 25 and 12(parole eligibility) turn to a 25[years] flat, weh you have to do one third,” he shared.

So a six years and couple months mi did affi do and come out…by time dem pass that law mi nine year in already so mi did automatically eligble for parole, that’s how mi come out early.”
