Afrobeat star Burna Boy has become the first artiste in history to earn over 1 billion total streams on the digital music streaming platform, Boomplay.

The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer achieved this feat following the release of his seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them’.

A check on his Boomplay account by DAILY POST shows that the singer has amassed over a billion streams on the platform.

Boomplay Music is the largest Africa-focused digital streaming platform that was launched in 2015 in Africa.

Burna Boy is also the most followed artist on the platform with over 600,000 followers.
