Premier League Champions Manchester City have reportedly agreed to a £30m deal with Saudi Pro League team Al-Ahli to sign winger Riyad Mahrez.

It’s understood that Maherz who has been a main target for Al-Ahli, was given permission to miss City’s pre-season trip to Japan and South Korea.

The approval would’ve been green-lit provided City received a bid that matched their valuation of the player, who had two years remaining on his current contract.

City paid £60m to acquire the Algeria international from Leicester City in 2018, who netted 77 times in 294 appearances, with 15 of those goals part of the Blues’ Treble-winning 2022/23 season.

The 32-year-old was however an unused substitute for both the FA Cup and Champions League finals last season. Mahrez is set to be the second major departure from the premiership champions this summer following the exit of former captain İlkay Gündoğan to La Liga champions Barcelona as a free agent
