Former band leader of the Jolly Boys, Lenford ‘Brutus’ Richards, who was also the banjo player died suddenly last week Wednesday.

Info about his death was today Wednesday, (May 31, 2023) sent to the media.

According to those who were around him at the time of his death, revealed that Brutus died shortly after collapsing at his home in Portland.

He died at the age of 67.

Reportedly, the veteran guitarist who toured with the iconic Burning Spear and Jahpostles band, had been at the hospital for a while.

The report says Brutus was a patient at the Annotto Bay hospital for four days and was discharged last week Monday, “feeling quite fit.”

However, he passed away two days later.

His funeral is set for the last week in June and will be held at a venue in Folly, Portland.
