The Board of the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) has announced the appointment of Steve Berberich as the energy company’s new President and chief executive officer.

According to JPS, Mr. Berberich is an internationally recognised industry expert in electric grid operations and markets, renewable and related technologies, information technology, and cyber security.

He brings over 38 years of experience in the fields of utility leadership, business consulting, financial services, banking, and finance

Mr. Berberich is the former president and chief executive officer of the California Independent System Operator (ISO), which is one of the world’s largest transmission organisations.

He took up office as JPS’ president and CEO this morning (Wednesday, May 31, 2023).
