Mere hours following the release of Nicki Minaj’s dancehall-sampled ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’ on Friday morning, the track has soared to the top of the Apple music charts.

Minaj, who premiered the track at midnight capitalized on the buzz generated around her Caribbean visit recently, in addition to the pull from the sampling of the Lumidee classic ‘Never Leave You’ which was voiced on the Diwali Riddim.

Chart data also confirmed the immediate success of the song.

Minaj who previously topped charts in the UK and across the Caribbean with the remix of Skeng Don’s ‘Likkle Miss’ continues to show that she’s always been on a wave with ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’ single.

A wave that is likely to get bigger following the release of the accompanying video which was shot during her time in Trinidad and Tobago recently ahead of Carnival.
