Rihanna set to ‘lift up’ the Oscars with performance

Rihanna is set to do her second major show in a month after being confirmed to perform her comeback hit ‘Lift Me Up’ at the upcoming 2023 Oscar which is set for March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Rihanna, who marked her official return to the live stage at the February 12 Super Bowl final in Arizona, was confirmed to as a performer at the 95th Oscars by executive producers and showrunners Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner as per Billboard news.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences [Oscars] also confirmed the news via their social media.

The Bajan-born billionaire is said to sing the Black Panther: Wakanda forever tribute song as one of the opening performers one the night.

The song which was coincidentally her first original track since 2016, had also fond favor among the film community after being nominated for a Golden Globe award for best original song for a film.

“Lift Me Up” which was co-written by Rihanna, Tems, and film Director Ryan Coogler was nominated for Best Original Song. This is Rihanna’s first Oscar nomination.
