JCF High Command condemns killing of District Constable in St Thomas

The JCF High Command has expressed disdain following the death of District Constable Mark Forsythe who was killed while responding to complaints about suspicious men lurking in the community of York District, St. Thomas on Monday, February 13.

In a release issued earlier, the High Command alluded that the force will be committed to carrying out a thorough investigation and apprehending those linked to the District Constable’s murder.

Additionally, the JCF’s Chaplaincy Branch will be providing counselling to the family members.

The Corporate Communications arm of the JCF outlined that around 3:40 p.m., DC Forsythe received a report from concerned residents of strange men in the community.

It is understood that Forsythe upon arrival was greeted by the assailants who immediately opened fire hitting him multiple times. The men also opened fire at the citizens who attempted to assist the injured officer however no other casualties were recorded.

He was subsequently transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the police have issued a plea for citizens in the surrounding areas to come forward with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects linked to the deadly ordeal.
