France head coach Didier Deschamps has officially confirmed his commitment to the team until 2026.
Descamps confirmed his continuation with the National team via a press conference on Saturday.
The contract would now bring his reign at the helm to 14 years having taken up the mantle in 2012.
The former captain led France to back-to-back World Cup finals in 2018 and 2022 having won their second-ever title in 2018 only just being denied consecutive wins by Argentina via a penalty shoot-out after a dramatic 3-3 full-time score, in arguably the best-ever Cup finals.
Deschamps who lifted the World Cup in 1998 France’s first-ever title, delivered the country’s second 20 years later in 2018 to become just the third person to win Cup as both player and Manager.
He will now oversee France’s campaign for the 2024 Euros and 2026 World Cup tournaments.
