The New York Knicks made it back-to-back wins in the NBA after dismissing the Phoenix Suns 102-82 at Madison Square Gardens (MSG) on Monday night to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference.
The home team Knicks came the stronger of the two in the first half taking both quarter-23-11 and 31-20. That early rush in the opening period seemed to have been enough to cover their deficits in the next two quarters as they trailed 25-27 in the third and 23-25 in the fourth.
Julius Randle had 28 points with 16 rebounds while Jalen Brunson supported with 24 points of his own as the home team crowd continued their New Year celebrations following the win.
The result brings the Knicks to win number 20 as they move to number seven in the Eastern Conference. Phoenix who also has 20 wins remains seventh in their third consecutive loss and 18th overall.
They will next be in action on Wednesday when they take on the San Antonio Spurs while the Knicks face the Cleveland Cavaliers.
