Many-time European champion Liverpool made their intentions known for the second half of the football season as they dismissed AC Milan 4-1 in their club friendly in Dubai on Friday.

Liverpool goals from Mohamed Salah, Thiago Alcantara and Darwin Nunez did the job for Reds Boss Jurgen Klopp in Dubai.

With the World Cup winding down to its final stages Liverpool benefited from a majority of their players returning to the squad’s lineup and their superior class evident with a comfortable routing in similar conditions.

The former EPL champion started their assault as early as the 5th minute through their Egyptian talisman Mo Salah.

Salah whose Egypt just missed out on qualification to the World Cup showed it has affected his world-class striker as he got the reds off to a lightning start in the first five minutes.

Liverpool’s lead was then doubled by another player who was also absent from the tournament as Thiago Alcantara added the goal number in minute 41 to extend their dominance in the first half.

The midfielder who missed the cup with an injury marked his return to action with a well-taken goal to signal his readiness for the rest of the season.

Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez netted Liverpool’s next two goals as he continued to improve his confidence in the reds jersey.

Darwin who recently featured in Qatar for the South American team scored in the 82nd and 88th minutes to consolidate Liverpool’s win after Alex Saelemaekers pulled a goal back in the 29th minute for AC Milan.

In the end, Jurgen Klopp’s men completed the pre-return with a confidence-boosting result ahead of the restarts of the season which continues with a mega fixture against EPL champs Manchester City in the EFL Cup on December 22.
