Probe launched into the death of Clarendon resident

The Clarendon police have launched a probe into the death of a man in Treadlight District in May pen in the parish on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Donald Simpson.

It is reported that around 8:45 p.m., Simpson and his two sons were on their way home when they were pounced upon by armed men and attacked.

The report also alluded that the men opened fire hitting Simpson several times; His sons however, escaped unharmed as they fled in nearby bushes.

Shortly after the attack, the police were summoned and upon their arrival discovered Simpson with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was later transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators also believe that Simpson’s death could be linked to a land dispute.

Meanwhile, the police have issued a call to the public to come forward with information that will lead to an arrest of the suspects linked to this deadly attack.
