Dancehall’s top striker Masicka once again verified that title after becoming the most streamed artiste on YouTube in Jamaica following the release of his Umbrella.
Umbrella, which was released on Thursday, to rave reviews by fans across the board, was described as an instant hit by many, and streams reflected hype around the single.
It first catapulted into the top 10 most trending in its first 24 hours before eventually being updated at the number 1 most viewed on the island on the popular streaming platform, with over 690,000 streams in its third day.
The track which is almost prophetic in its title-Umbrella is the second major release from the Gennah syde boss following his previous hit Matches, which is still causing a blaze among music lovers.
The single which steers along an inspirational feel, which has been a consistent bulls eye for the Portmore native as he continues to show a strong degree of lyrical potency as well a strong understanding of the creative utilization of moods and melodies.
The track which is a parred down released from matches is able to command the same and more impact as his hyped release.
The message from the track clearly resonates with many listeners as it seemes to have connected on different levels depending who the listerner is.
Given the current weather pattern across the island by extension, the region Umbrella is certainly a go too track to help build motivation amidst personal storms.
Earlier in the summer the Artiste had promised that he was coming with the heat on his new release as he puts together his follow-up to his critically acclaimed ‘438’ debut album.
Masicka had given his assurance that the content would better that of its predecessor and if these two releases are anything to go by it the substance is already living up to the hype.
