Jackson dominates in another Jamaican sweep

Newly crowned 200m World Champion Shericka Jackson bagged victory in the 100 metres in Italy 33 at the Meeting Internazionale Sport e Solidarieta over the weekend to lead home another Jamaican sweep in the sprint.

Jackson who opted to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games, in England dominated in Italy with a modest, 11.13 seconds for victory ahead of fellow Jamaicans Natasha Morrison and Shokoria Wallace who posed 11.31 and 11.36 for second and third respectively

The race is Jackson’s first since her World Championship exploits in July and first 100m since picking up silver in the historic 1-2-3 Jamaican sweep, where she also clocked a 10.73 personal record. 

Jackson is set to appear at the Silesia Diamond League meeting in Poland next Saturday, before  participating in the Gyulai Istvan Memorial Grand Prix in Hungary on August 8 and Monaco Diamond League on the August 10.
