The mask mandate has been lifted for passengers seeking to fly with Caribbean Airlines. This policy will remain in effect until September 19.

In a release on Sunday, the entity outlined that effective immediately, masks will no longer be required at the check-in, while boarding and during flights.

However, the airline is still advising that a mask be worn as an additional layer of protection.  The entity also stated that it will maintain a strict sanitization programme for its aircraft and its premises.

“As further outlined by the Public Health Authorities, wearing a mask on board is highly recommended as an additional protection against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases ” the statement outlined.

This decision comes in accordance with the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago ending its mandatory mask mandate in public spaces.

Citizens are however required to wear face masks at medical clinics and hospitals; failure to do so will attract a fine of up to $2000.
