Windies complete series sweep over Bangladesh

The West Indies competed a series double sweep against Bangladesh cricket team, after winning their third and final T20 match by five wickets to claim the series 2-0 on Thursday at the Providence Stadium, Guyana.

The Windies who have successfully defended totals throughout the series were asked to chase this time around and had no trouble doing either.

The regional team who was set a target of 164 to win took just 18.2 to ensure the win.

Led by a man of the match performance by Nicholas Pooran the Windies were efficient in reaching the target despite hiccups in the batting order.

Coming in at number five Pooran put on a series wining innings scoring, 74-unbeaten to restore stability to a seemingly complacent team.

The usually reliable opener Brandon king middle order batsmen Shamar Brooks and Odean Smith all were all dismissed for 7,12,2 runs respectively.

Pooran and the inform Kyle Mayers 55 runs steadied the ship as the team seeking to sweep the home tour marched toward their target.

While not being able to carry on in the inning after falling as the fourth wicket, the West Indies were close enough as bowler Akeal Hosein partnered with Pooran to complete the task.

Both batsmen guided the team across the line as the Windies exceeded the total knocking 169-5 in the 19th over.

 The bowlers who have been effective all series remained efficient in the game. While not claiming as many wickets they fairy economical during their time in attack.

Both teams will now gear up for the ODI series which will now bowl off on Sunday July 11 at the same venue
