Paris Saint Germaine (PSG) striker Neymar Jr, is set to remain in France for the upcoming season after incoming manager Christophe Galtier indicated that the Brazilian is part of his plans for the club going forward.

“I want Neymar to stay here with us. He’s kind of world-class player, all the managers in the world want top players like him,” Galter said when quizzed about the future.

“I’ve already clear ideas on my plan for Neymar here at PSG,” he added.

The Frenchman was unveiled as the new manager of the 10-time French champions on Tuesday following the confirmed sacking of Mauricio Pochettino on Monday after 18 months in charge at the club.

With the club set to go through a reshuffle and questions around Neymar’s future heightened, with reported interest from English Premier League teams Chelsea and Newcastle.

However, all have seemingly been put to bed with the latest pronouncement by the new boss as they seek to rebuild their challenge for European championship honors, having regained domestic glory last season.

Coincidentally, Ligue 1 outfit Lile, who snapped PSG’s 8-year run as Champions in 2021 was managed by Galtier before he surprisingly resigned to guide Nice to fifth in last season’s standings.

While it remains uncertain where the striker will fall in his system it’s expected to be more of a supporting role to main man Kylian Mbappe.
