The parish of Clarendon has been plunged into mourning after the bodies of a woman and her four children were discovered in the community of New Road .
It is understood that the bodies were found with their throats slashed; however, the details surrounding the killings are still unknown as investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for North Clarendon Central, Robert Nesta Morgan has taken to Social media to express anguish about the gruesome killings.
Morgan notes that the act was a great tragedy and will be tough on members of the constituency.
“A very terrible tragedy and I never expected that we would be here today having a discussion about four children and their mother in my constituency, but the police are doing their investigation ” he lamented.
This killing comes weeks after a 42-year-old business woman Melissa Wright was gunned down at her home in Bellcarries, Clarendon on Wednesday, June 1.
Reports indicate that around 7:30 p.m., Wright and her family were at home where they were pounced upon by two men who kicked in a door.
The men, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife, then entered a room where the family had gathered. Following this, the family members were ordered to leave the room while Wright remained behind.
During this time the robbers demanded money and subsequently opened fire hitting Wright multiple times.
The attackers then fled, and the police were summoned; Wright was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, an appeal has been issued by investigators for citizens to come forward with information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the tragedy.
