National Senior Reggae Boys Captain Andre Blake has once again been recognized for his outstanding keeping abilities in Major League Soccer (MLS).
Blake leads the way in shut outs and saves among all keepers, registering four clean sheets and 17 saves, for an impressive goal concession rate of 0.33 per game for his Philadelphia Union Franchise.
Blake who joined the Union as the number one overall pick in the 2014 MLS Super Draft, has won the goal keeper of the year awards on two occasions. Picking up his first in 2016 and again four years later in 2020, along with being named in the 2020 MLS Best IX.
The top-rated goalie, is also among the best shot stoppers on the Confederation, earning the 2017 Golden Glove award in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, for being the tournament’s best keeper, the first Jamaican to do so.
This comes four years after picking up the same award in his international debut tournament at the Caribbean Cup, where the then 23-year old Blake impressed with composure and confidence ‘between the sticks’ to help the Reggae Boys secure their sixth title.
